Step 01

Dock Construction Process Lake Conroe: What to Expect from G&C

We start with a free visit to your property. We’ll walk the shoreline or pond edge, assess the existing conditions, discuss what you’re hoping to build, and identify any site-specific challenges — water depth, soil type, wave exposure, HOA restrictions, or utility conflicts.

There’s no cost and no commitment. We want to make sure we’re the right fit for your project before we ever talk money.

Step 02

3D Design Preview

Before we finalize your quote, Brandon creates a detailed 3D rendering of your proposed structure. You’ll see your dock, boathouse, bulkhead, or pier in context — from multiple angles — with your specific materials and dimensions reflected.

You can request adjustments — different widths, roof styles, decking materials, boat lift positions — until the design is exactly what you want. This step eliminates confusion and ensures you love what we build.

Step 03

Permitting & Scheduling

Once you approve the design, we handle the permit applications. On Lake Conroe, that means the San Jacinto River Authority. On Lake Livingston, it’s the Trinity River Authority. We know these agencies, their processes, and their timelines.

We’ll give you a realistic timeline for permit approval and schedule your construction start date. Our established relationship with the SJRA means our applications move faster than most — Lake Conroe permits often come through in about 10 days total (including required HOA approval). Lake Livingston TRA permits typically take 2–3 weeks. Gulf Coast projects require 3–6 months. We’ll give you a location-specific timeline at the estimate stage.

Construction & Final Walkthrough

Our crew arrives on schedule and builds to the approved design and specifications. Current lead time from signed contract to construction start is typically 4–8 weeks depending on the season — we run three crews and work hard to keep wait times short. We keep the job site clean, communicate any changes or decisions in real time, and never leave you guessing.

When construction is complete, we do a final walkthrough with you. We want you to be 100% satisfied before we call the project done. Your structure comes with our workmanship warranty.
